How we handle allergens

We are a small craft bakery, not a factory. Everything is made by hand in one shared kitchen, which means flour is quite literally in the air. We take allergens seriously, but we are honest about what we can and cannot promise in a space like ours.

The information below is a general guide. Recipes change with the seasons and with what our suppliers have, so the single most reliable thing you can do is ask us on the day.

The 14 major allergens

Like all food businesses, we track the 14 allergens required by law. These are:

• Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats)
• Nuts and peanuts
• Milk and eggs
• Soya and sesame
• Celery, mustard, and lupin
• Fish, crustaceans, and molluscs
• Sulphur dioxide and sulphites

Most of our bread and pastry contains gluten, dairy, and eggs by nature. Nut-based items are baked in the same space as everything else.
Ordering with an allergy

If you or someone you are ordering for has a serious allergy, please do the following:

1. Tell us clearly when you order, whether in person, by phone, or by email.
2. For custom cakes and party orders, note it on your enquiry so we can advise honestly before you commit.
3. If in doubt, ask to speak to a baker. We would always rather have the conversation than take a risk.

When it comes to allergies, an honest "we can't guarantee that" is worth more than a friendly "should be fine."

Delivery orders

For orders placed through delivery partners, the same rules apply, but we cannot speak to you directly. Allergen notes on each item are listed at the point of order. If your allergy is severe, we recommend ordering in person instead.
